Cast Your Sighting Kit

You can make your own jewellery.

Think of a moment that made you stop. Carve it into wax, and I’ll turn it into a sterling silver pendant, cast from your original design.

No experience needed. Just a few hours and a cup of tea (optional).

In a world of mass production, there’s a different kind of luxury in something made by you. 

Your kit includes:

• Two pieces of carving wax (12 × 16 mm): one to practise on, one for your final design.
• All the tools you need to carve your pendant.
• Step-by-step instructions, helpful tips and everything you need to send your wax back to me, including prepaid postage.

Not sure your design will cast? Email me a photo before sending it back. Have any other questions? Just ask.

Once your wax arrives, I’ll cast your design in sterling silver using a process called sand casting, then polish it by hand. Your pendant comes on a sterling silver chain, ready to wear, and will be sent back to you within a month of your wax arriving.

My first casting was a little robin, inspired by walks through Walthamstow Wetlands, trying to guess the birds from their songs. I’m looking forward to seeing what you make.

A few things to know: This kit isn’t a toy, and the tools are sharp. Suitable for ages 14 and up. Made in small batches; please allow 14 days for dispatch.
